About D4G
Passionate about Percussion . . .
Drum4Good is a project initiated by Graham Game - a highly motivated and experienced ecotherapist, facilitator and rhythm therapist based in North Essex, and it provides a range of activities that use rhythm as a tool to facilitate community, build spirit and promote wellbeing.
Beating a drum releases blocks such as anger, sadness or frustration without the need to express those feelings in words, and is a direct route to free inhibitions and connect with inner emotions. Natural by-products of hand drumming include increased self-esteem, a sense of empowerment, creativity and an enhanced ability to focus the mind, leading to stress reduction and increased wellbeing.
Graham has his roots in music: As a child, his musician father sent him to piano lessons where he diligently worked up to his grades, but when Ringo Starr and The Beatles emerged in the 1960's, he bagan a lifelong affair with the drums. The 1970's was the era of the Disco, and backed by his Youth Club, Graham started 'The Starship Disco' which was in constant demand around the schools, weddings, parties and Youth Clubs of Essex for many years. It was then that he pioneered 'Diddy Discos' for young children. He still DJ's occasionally, and produces his own 'Global Grooves' dance and trance music in his recording studio when he can find the time!.
Graham has facilitated drum circles, rhythm therapy and workshops for an incredibly wide range of different people at many diverse events around the UK and USA: From pre-school to college, music festivals and parties, hospitals and care centres to corporate teambuilding events.
In 2000, Graham trained as a Drum Circle Facilitator with guru Arthur Hull, and in September 2007 trained and qualified as a Remo HealthRHYTHMS Facilitator in the USA. He is fully CRB checked, and is experienced at working with children and adults of all abilities. Drum4Good carries full Public Liability Insurance, and is fully Health and Safety compliant.
Graham is currently writing a book on rhythm therapy, and he runs regular weekly community drum circles, workshops and rhythm therapy sessions from his purpose-built studio next to his home in the Colne Valley near Colchester, Essex.

“My aim is to inspire people to connect to their inner rhythms so that they can celebrate life, explore their creativity and live in harmony with nature and each other".
"I don't know of any activity or 'therapy' that is as simple, quick and effective as hand drumming, with its innate ability to reach beyond our heads and straight into our hearts.
We need to think of the drum not just as a musical instrument, but an essential tool for wellbeing, healing and transformation. Every home, school and business should have one - every pharmacy should sell drums."
